I'm trying to come up with a name for a ruby library I'm writing. Basically this library will convert javascript in to ruby. Here's the list of options I have so far:
- rkelly
- rtaco
- burrito
- rawr
So far the front runner is 'rkelly'. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or particularly like any of those names?
Update: I changed "taco" to "rtaco" so that all of the names have "r" in them. "r" for Ruby, "taco" for Taco!
Update 2: Added "rawr"!

How about rrito? Short for burrito, but follows the ’start with r’ naming convention. Plus, when you say it outloud, you get to roll your Rs. “r-r-r-ito!” I like the way it sounds.
pronclick - because I always think of “onclick” when I think of Javascript. And the ‘p’ is there because I like the sound of “prawnclick” better than “rawnclick.”
recma - ECMAscript with an ‘r’.
scriptrec - because I like the way it sounds more than “wreckma” above.
jarby
pffft. james, for real?? here’s some real options.
eh? genius eh? ask a writer…
sorry, i thought you were another james.
jurby.
How about “r2j2″? George Lucas would be proud.
Other thoughts:
rujy
rubyscript
raje (pronounced rage)
rubyfish (an homage to D. Adams’ babelfish)
forty2 (another more obscure reference to the same)

Is rjs taken? Or jruby? Bastards.
I am going to weigh in, even though I am completely out of my element. However, I like rawr… better gestures to go with the name. I couldn’t imagine saying it without imitating a tiger.
Everyone should know that when Aaron sees a cute dog at the park he screams I Ruv Roo every time. Every. Time.
I’d suggest, hmm… jstronaut. Nah, rawr is too good.
How about:
rubyscript
grubyscript (should be grubby, but who’s spelling?)
javasclipt
rdom (DOM scripting…)
rjax (maybe thats bigger beast)
lavascript
